QUESTION???
while out emma and i decided to do a little window shopping. she thought i should buy a pair of these harem pants from bardot. my issue is, i know for a fact that these are just one of those fads that will last a season and never return. so.... do i go for the really nice, beautifully made $70 pair from bardot or the cotton/synthetic version from supre. some help and input would be great.

shoes by coochi and my very first pair of leggings with this foot thing from valley girl...
(please note that the legs shown in the above photo are not mine. my legs are not as nice, slim nor long..)

day 5

the last day of my holidays... so what did i get up to?

1. being the last day i was kind of tired and wanted to stay home. however, upon thinking things through i realised that officially my holidays are over, but i do have 2 more days (sunday and monday my weekend equivalent) to recuperate and stay at home. so with this in mind my partner and i decided to go out and watch a movie.... i wore my supre skirt 2007 and bonds t-shirt.

2. both comic book lovers (can anybody say geek) we decided to go and see 'watchmen'. it was an interesting movie but i am still a little undecided as to whether or not i liked it. the special effect was great and a lot of action was to be had, but again there wasn't enough to quench my thirst... something was missing...

3. seeing as though we were out and about i decided to stay back at the mall to shop around for birthday gifts. i couldn't find anything for my partners upcoming birthday, but on the plus side i did find the outfit i will be wearing to his dinner party...

i did also find a gift for his sisters birthday. a compact mirror from oroton... i have always loved this signature design, and i was this close to keeping it for myself... but i didn't.... i do have self control you know... :)

until next time... xoxoxo

day 4

what i did today:

1. nothing much... we did however get the chance to meet the new addition to the j's family. little mia... she was perfect in every way. 10 fingers, 10 toes really long feet. she didn't cry at all apart from when it was time for her to feed and soon after she was fine. i think mia and i will get along just fine.

2. finally wore my bardot dress...

3. feeling bad that he wasn't up to taking me to the gold coast today (many sleepless nights from his teeth), my partner took me to my favourite restaurant, i-sushi. he is so cute...

5. to say thank you i bought him the movie 'hancok' which i knew he has been wanting to watch for a very long time. i have it playing as i write this... must say i am enjoying it, but then again who doesn't like will smith.

xoxo

day 3

what i did today:

1. spent most of the morning in bed... my partners teeth were bleeding profusely last night so we went to the hospital to check on his stitches and we didn't get home until midnight. not to worry he is fine...

when i did get enough energy to get up out of bed i finished sewing my skirt. i don't think i did that badly considering i didn't have a pattern to work from and made things up along the way. now that i have the right measurements i will be making a black pair to wear out and about. i am enjoying making things immensely and the best part is that it keeps me occupied ...

2. wore my black singlet and skirt from target...

3. eager to start on my black skirt, i drove to spotlight to grab my supplies. no doubt i will be starting on this project tomorrow some time. :)

4. went to the shops and bought this top/dress from supre... they are having a sale and i couldn't resist this bargain...

5. now at home with a cup of tea and watching a movie with my partner... 15 minutes into it and there is very little about this movie that is keeping me interested... hummm... might surf youtube.

twilight the movie

what i did today:

1. whined and winged until i was granted my wish… my partner took me to see 'twilight'. after reading the first book and currently enjoying ‘the new moon’, i found the sudden need to see the movie on the big screen instead of waiting for its arrival on dvd. so off to the movies we went, and can i say that i was thoroughly disappointed.
i honestly did not expect it to be as bad as it was, i was thinking more along the lines of buffy the vampire slayer (tv series); romance, action and a little bit of carnage thrown in for good measure.

it was just so bad that my partner and i were laughing throughout the entirety of the move because of its poorly written lines and its horrendous special effects. amongst all that, the cinematography had a lot to be desired. it was inconsistent and at times pointless making the movie overwhelmingly 'b' grade. but the most disappointing thing of all was that i did not fall in love… in most vampire tales you cant help but fall in love with these mysterious creatures, the way they lived, loved and their past.
oh, and the acting… don’t even get me started!

i would like to erase the past two hours out of my mind so that it wont taint the rest of my reading experience. further more, i plan to spend the rest of my evening watching ‘interview with the vampire’ followed by ‘queen of the dammed’ to remind myself of what a real vampire movie should be like.

favourite character: victoria played by rachel lefevre.
favourite scene: the credits

rise of the lycan

what i did today:

1. wore my pink floral 'wish' top, thrifted skirt 2005, thrifted belt from god knows how long ago, bardot ring and dotti bag.

2. went to the markets for something to do. like always i leave there disappointed, i didn't find anything worth buying, i was drenched by the rain and then the strap on my top decided to break along the way.

3. my partner and i passed the day by going to the movies and watched 'underworld - rise of the lycans'.

a fan of underworld and underworld: evolution, it is no surprise that i jumped at the chance to watch this awesome prequel. i have always been horrible with telling the plot to a story, so please visit the site to get a better understanding.

http://www.entertheunderworld.com/

what i love about underworld in general is the special effects, the blood and guts and most important, the interesting take it has on the history between the lycans and vampires.

favourite character: i love viktor played by billy nighy. his ability to play a vampire is so believable he sends chills down my spine. surprisingly i also feel in love with the character 'raze' played by kevin grevoux. i bring it down to the fact that in this prequel we are able to establish him more of an unsung hero than just another lycan follower as portrayed in the previous movies.

4. keeping with the vampire theme, i finished the book 'twilight'. not an avid reader it took me six months to read this book. it was good, but i think the hype behind it is a little over the top. this isn't going to stop me watching the movie, i am a sucker for vampires (pardon the pun).

Q: what do you think of the twilight hype?

empire records

what i did yesterday:

1. went late night shopping and bought the empire records soundtrack.
the cult movie came out 1995 and it has always been one of my favourite comedy dramas. (ahhh... the 90's flannel shirts, undercuts, short tartan skirts, knee high socks, goths and kurt cobain.)

anyway, enough reminiscing. this movie has had a cult following from my generation because like myself, majority of those who watched the movie longed for the lives of those jaded teens. and who could blame us, how cool would it be to work in a music store, hang out with your best friends, listen to music and not to mention the upside of having a boss that is more of a friend than an authoritative figure.

i've had the dvd for as long as i could remember and have watched it 100 times, i just don't know why it has taken me this long to add the soundtrack to my cd collection.

if your a 90's kiddo like me you will appreciate the artists featured on this cd such as the cranberries, edwin collins and one of our very own... the cruel sea. the only down fall... so many good songs from the movie were not included in the soundtrack. eg. video killed the radio star by the buggles and money (that's what i want) by the flying lizards.

this movie is a must see, put it on your 'bucket list'.

favourite track from the cd: #1 till i hear it from you - gin blossoms
favourite quote from the movie: we mustn't dwell... no, not today. We CAN'T. Not on Rex Manning day.~
favourite character: all of them check out the cast on this website. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112950/fullcredits
