8 1/2 years in the making....

where do i start...
j's father as a graduation gift gave us a free night out in town to celebrate brisbanes notorious 'riverfire'. this is how my weekend went....

that afternoon i came home not in the best of moods... work was hard, taking photos of kids all day really drained me and i was beginning to think that it was going to spoil my night out. however, receiving these flowers from j's mum just made the stress of the day go away and i thought to myself, nothing is going to spoil tonight...

he asked me to marry him....

i honestly don't remember hearing him ask the question, i just remembered seeing j' on one knee and a beautiful diamond ring under my nose. as a joke i said "no, why now after all these years", i then laughed and said yes, he put the ring on my finger, and i started to cry...

the next morning...

well what can i say... its been one of those months when work takes over and any spare time i do get is spent shopping and not updating.... so what has been happening in my life?

a solemn party that made my heart break....
it's hard to fathom the fact that they will be teenagers the next time they come to visit australia. hope that they will remember me...

i was so proud of him.... he has achieved so much this year.
one down fall to the night was me... my camera had no batteries so i had no photos of our own to post up, hence this illegal cut and paste of a photo from the web...
(shhhh.... it will be our little secret.)

dinner out with adele and brendon.... i love spending time with the two of them, they are so funny... definitely great company... we also watched 'inglorious basterds'. not the best tarentino film ever made, but i loved the costume design.

i asked for brown...

a dinner out at the german club with js sister and her partner lead to some drinking and singing with this colourful german guy called andrew.
his repertoire varied from neil diamond, vengaboys, the beatles, smash mouth mixed in with some traditional german music. j insists on having him play at our wedding some day.
(we shall see about that)

went to the movies and watched bruno with a high school friend and her partner. before i go on may i say just how wrong this movie is... funny... but oh so wrong...

after the movies we went to a delightful and local thai restaurant that we didn't know about. definitely going back there again.

j after his flying lesson that morning called to happily inform me that a vintage plane show was being held at the air strip. so after the christening we made a swift exit towards the door and headed down to caboolture to check them out. unfortunately we missed most of it. but we were fortunate enough to score two loafs of bread from the food stand and to capture the planes being flown back to their rightful owners. these great images were taken by j bar the one of him of course... he is becoming really good at it :)...

paid $150 to have my hair a shade lighter/brown...

at the time i was really happy with the result...

i don't know why i did, because i asked for brown and clearly its gone orange/red...

it may have been the bad lighting that caused me to say 'yes i love it. or i could have still been in shock from my scalp being poked a million times with a crochet needle. it could also have been because the cap was too tight, the water too hot or it could also have been an adverse reaction from all the chemicals they put on my hair... who knows...

all i know is they need to fix it...

i look like an orangutan.

no recent buys this week, had to pay for a broken car...
