this movie was nail biting, edge of your seat brilliant....
my favourite character= 'gambit' played by taylor kitsch

went out to brunch with the girls. after ordering we waited a good 45min before getting our meals. to apologise for the poor service we were given the meals for free.

wore
pants-valley girl
top-cotton on
necklace-myer

QUESTION???
while out emma and i decided to do a little window shopping. she thought i should buy a pair of these harem pants from bardot. my issue is, i know for a fact that these are just one of those fads that will last a season and never return. so.... do i go for the really nice, beautifully made $70 pair from bardot or the cotton/synthetic version from supre. some help and input would be great.

shoes by coochi and my very first pair of leggings with this foot thing from valley girl...
(please note that the legs shown in the above photo are not mine. my legs are not as nice, slim nor long..)
xoxo....

6:30pm friday night...
j and i went to sandgate to watch a WW2 tribute band. they were good but not as good as 'the andrew sisters' cover band that followed. if only i could sing i would love to join a vocal group like this one....

check out this little clip i was able to capture of the trio before i was told to move out of the way...
i apologise for the poor quality of my video.

5:00am saturday morning...
we headed down to cleveland to watch the dawn service. this year over 2000 people came and it was just magical.

3:00pm saturday...
met up with family and friends for a quick catch up and afternoon tea at the park.
my gift to the kids (bubble makers) was a great success.

yet another vest, shoes and more shoes....
i hope next weekend will be just as eventfull.

shoe sale!!!!

went to the vintage fair with my friend emma...

sometimes at these places i tend to be a little picky because of the price and often come out with nothing, this day was one of them. the highlight of the day was an armadillo bag.

before

after... poor little armadillo...

wore:
skirt = ice
singlet = thrifted

before heading home my friend surprised me with a little gift
from her shop.
it now sits on my window sill and every day it makes me smile.

wore:

dress = ice

belt=thrifted

stockings=target
shoes=kmart

most of the day was spent watching old episodes of sex and the city followed

by an afternoon of window shopping.
and thank god i did!!!
found these tony bianco shoes at myer. to my surprise the already discounted
shoes were a further 75% off. i nearly kissed the shop assistant.
$120 down to $89 further discounted down to $22...

i love shoe sales...

i am hoping to catch more bargains on the weekend.
wish me luck!

my brown shoes...

what i did today:

1. wore my new yellow dress and belt from 'sportsgirl' 07.

2. met up with emma http://thisragdollsriches.blogspot.com/ and she drove me to a craft store called spotlight. there were so many cute buttons, ribbons and fabrics to chose from i felt like a little kid in a candy store. you could definitely spend a whole day in there just finding inspiration and ideas for things to do.

emma and i spent most of the time looking at patterns for dresses. there were some i found hideous, but the ones from the 'vogue' catalogue had really nice vintage patterns. i was unable to find a pattern for the skirt that i had in mind so instead i have decided to design it myself with the guidance of this site.
being a trial run, i picked up the cheapest but cutest material i could find.

while i was there i also bought a memory box in the hopes of finding a way to display this little fairy figurine that my partner hand painted for me. unfortunately the box is too small, but I'm sure that i will be able to find a good use for it.
3. found my brown shoes!!! they were on special from 'betts' by 'airflex'. (yeah i know they sound like something an old lady would buy, but by god are they comfortable.) the only downside is that i feel in time they will loosen up too much. nevertheless, i love them and they were on sale which is an extra bonus.

4. found this cute ring from 'bardot'. unluckily i had it on today and with an arm full of groceries i accidentally scraped it on my door and now some of the paint has come off. :( never mind, it adds to the character.

5. while surfing the net for skirt tutorials, i had stumbled upon this great video. i love the buttons and i feel that it is something i can definitely make.

enjoy and be inspired! xoxox

mums birth day

what i did today:

1. scanned some old photos that my mum had of her sisters. this is by far my favourite out of all of them. it is a photo of my aunt taken in the 50s. i love what she is wearing and i will not rest until i find a seamstress that can make me a replica.

2.had the chance to break in my new shoes from novo. don't usually wear high heals and now i remember why. as much as i love these, i think i shall save them for times where minimal walking is involved.

i also had a chance to finally wear my new 'bardot' dress picked up during the end of the year sale, $120 down to $40. http://www.bardot.net.au/store/

3.had lunch with mum to celebrate hers and my birthday. (her birthday is officially on the 1st of january mine is on the 2nd). she received from me a top with a necklace to match as well as a straw hat from my partner.

4. my mum bought for me a pair of lovely shoes by 'london rebel' and some cool black braces. http://www.londonrebel.co.uk/

will definitely post some updates on what is to be a quiet new years eve and more on my birthday celebrations. until then... have a happy new year everyone!!!! xoxoxo
